Abstract
Regional spatial planning aims to create safe, comfortable, productive, and sustainable spatial conditions. These efforts face challenges from climate change, which can impact community well-being and environmental sustainability. This situation is also faced by areas in Central Java Province, including Boyolali Regency, which is experiencing the impacts of climate change. This research aims to identify and determine priority areas for the development of public open spaces that can be utilized as a climate change adaptation strategy through the integration of Landsat 8 satellite imagery and Geographic Information Systems (GIS). This is accomplished through Vegetation Density Analysis, Surface Temperature Distribution Analysis, Building Density Analysis, Population Density Analysis, and land area map identification. The integration of remote sensing and GIS has been widely utilized to support policymaking by local governments, particularly in spatial planning as a basis for spatial utilization activities in a region. Referring to the results of the analysis that has been carried out, it was concluded that there is potential land for open space of 14,866.18 Ha, with 11.58 Ha of the land being the first priority for development as open space.
