Ensuring traffic safety during a comprehensive assessment of the technical condition of freight cars in operation

This article discusses the assessment of traffic safety during a comprehensive assessment of the technical condition of freight cars in operation. Based on the statistical values of the technical condition of the car, obtained as a result of the inspection of the wheelset, the main defect leading to the derailment of the cars was identified. With a comprehensive assessment of the development of wheelset defects in operation, amplitude-frequency characteristics are created, showing that in the presence of certain wheelset malfunctions and technical deviations of the track, a leap in dynamic forces occurs, which is one of the most important points in the causal relationship of car derailments. The shift of the wheel from the hub part is the main reason causing this defect, which appears when the pressing technology is violated and the diameter of the wheel or the diameter of the hub part is not suitable. During prolonged use with defects on the rolling surface, additional vibration develops, which can lead to shear. Diagrams of pressing in case of deviations and disruptions of the technological process are presented, as well as failures for which statistical data is collected for processing and analysis of their impact during operation.
