Algorithm for determining specific interfacial surface area of bubbles from image (on the example of ultrasound aeration)

The process of increasing the interfacial surface by means of ultrasonic oscillations in cavitation mode under forced aeration is considered. An algorithm for image processing of the interfacial surface to determine its specific area is proposed. The proposed algorithm provides an error in determining the specific interfacial surface associated with image rasterisation of no more than 6%. The determined error is found to be much smaller than the effect introduced by ultrasound. According to the result of image processing, ultrasound provides an increase in the interfacial surface up to 3 times or more.
