The implementation of sustainable transportation strategies aims to mitigate global warming by generating environmentally friendly energy, reducing carbon emissions, and combating extreme climate change. In Indonesia, the predominant use of gasoline-powered vehicles contributes to pollution and various environmental issues. This research seeks solutions for government policy management to facilitate a sustainable transportation transition through battery electric vehicles. Utilizing a qualitative descriptive research design, the study gathers data through literature reviews on sustainable development in the transportation sector, particularly focusing on renewable energy. The data processing involves reduction, presentation, and verification. The study employs in-depth analysis using the SWOT technique. The findings suggest that the Indonesian government must enhance the adoption of electric vehicles for both public and private use. Additionally, a well-targeted policy strategy is crucial for the effective acceleration of the battery electric vehicle program. Implementing a progressive carbon tax and a strategic tax collection approach could gradually encourage the public to transition to battery electric vehicles, thereby addressing the pressing environmental challenges.
