The permissible concentration of abrasive particles in the machine oil

The wear rate of a gear wheel tooth is assessed taking the dust level and the size of abrasive fractions; the geometrical, kinematic, and dynamic parameters that are characteristic of toothed gears; and the mechanical properties of gear wheel materials into account. The article presents the results of research of the reglarity of change of the permissible concentration of abrasive fractions in the oil of machine units depending on the gearing module, gear ratio, tooth length and hardness of the materi al, wear rate of gear teeth of pinion gears working in conditions of high environmental pollution.
