Analysis of modern methods for calculating nozzle assemblies in pressure vessels

The paper is focused on the analysis of modern methods of calculation of socket assemblies in pressure vessels. Socket assemblies are important elements of high-stress pressure vessel structures. The authors review traditional and modern design methods, including the Finite Element Method (FEM) and empirical approaches such as the Welding Research Council (WRC) recommendations. The advantages of using FEM are discussed, as it allows for complex geometric and loading conditions that are critical to reliable design. The paper also discusses the effects of geometric parameters, new materials and coatings, and various joint strengthening methods. Results from parametric analysis and experimental research are presented, confirming the importance of accurate modeling in ensuring the durability and safety of pressure vessels.
