It is well known that among engineers, the number of men is higher than that of women. Consequently, due to the under-representation of women civil engineers, women's potential in this area must be disclosed and utilized. This article aims to review the views of Kazakhstani scientists on the training of women engineers and to identify the problems of the under-representation of women civil engineers. The bibliometric analysis method and semi-structured interview method were used in the course of the research. The bibliometric study produced results that show that women's involvement in engineering needs to be better researched, and this study is new. Many scholars have investigated the potential of forming women engineers to increase the number of technical professionals. During the semi-structured interview, results were obtained that characterize the presence of gender stereotypes towards women engineers in Kazakhstani society. It was also revealed that women could not advance in their careers because male engineers were favored. In conclusion, we propose strategic management solutions to improve the involvement of women in engineering
