Environmental impact training is a strategic element in the field of education. Therefore, countries around the world are increasingly focused on training personnel to meet the challenges and realities of the environment. In this article, we aim to analyze the participation of Kazakhstani university students in environmental protection projects. The analysis utilized news data from official university websites and data from international environmental ratings. The results were obtained using comparative and content analysis methods. The study showed that universities are actively implementing and encouraging student initiatives to protect the environment, in particular, environmental actions in the form of plastic collection on campus, landscaping and planting trees, green auditing of trees on university grounds, creating start-ups for recycling, cleaning territories from solid household waste, thereby forming not only professional competencies, but also an environmental culture. The study’s results emphasize the need to expand student participation in environmental projects further and integrate the principles of sustainable development into university educational programs. This, in turn, will allow for the formation of qualified personnel capable of implementing environmental practices and supporting sustainable economic growth in Kazakhstan.
