Objective: To evaluate the nursing demand levels and influencing factors of elderly syndrome residents in communities of Kaifeng City, and to provide references for optimizing elderly nursing services. Method: A cross-sectional study was conducted. According to Document No. 48 [2019] issued by the National Health Commission of the People's Republic of China, 384 elderly residents with syndrome in 5 communities of Kaifeng City were evaluated, and the influencing factors were analyzed using the multiple linear regression model. Result: The results of multiple regression analysis showed the number of items of elderly syndrome (Beta=0.513, p<0.001), age (B=0.331, p<0.001), whether medication was taken (B=-0.523, p<0.001), and economic source (B=0.196). p=0.022) and marital status (B=0.165, p=0.046) significantly affected the level of care needs of the elderly (F=20.660, p<0.001), among which the number of items of geriatric syndromes had the most significant impact on the level of care needs. However, factors such as gender, educational level, and monthly income had no significant influence on the grade of nursing needs (p>0.05). Conclusion: The nursing needs of elderly residents with syndrome in Kaifeng City’s communities show a “bimodal distribution”, and the nursing needs of the elderly with moderate and extremely severe disabilities are more urgent. The level of nursing needs increases with age and the increase in the number of geriatric syndromes. Whether medication is taken regularly is negatively correlated with the level of nursing needs. The community should cooperate with multiple parties and provide corresponding personalized assistance for special elderly groups who are advanced in age, unmarried and have limited economic sources.
