To succeed as entrepreneurs, individuals must demonstrate key traits such as confidence, initiative, motivation, leadership, and risk-taking ability. This study assessed the entrepreneurial characteristics of tempeh artisans in Pliken Village, Banyumas District, using a purposive sample of 30 respondents. Data were collected through structured interviews and analyzed using a Likert scale (1–3). The results revealed high levels of entrepreneurial attributes, particularly in risk-taking (95.92%), self- confidence (93.33%), and leadership (92.59%). Initiative (75.92%) and achievement motivation (73.70%) were rated good but require further development. Although the artisans exhibit strong entrepreneurial potential, their reliance on traditional methods reflects a limited orientation toward innovation. Enhancing access to entrepreneurship training, creativity development, and institutional support is essential to strengthening their business sustainability and competitiveness.
