Spatiotemporal analysis of LST changes in Morocco: Assessing climate change impacts
Remote Sensing, Systems and Telecommunications Research Unit, National School for Applied Sciences of Tetouan, University Abdelmalek Essaadi, 93000 Tetuan, Morocco
In line with global climate change trends, Morocco has faced significant environmental challenges, including rising temperatures, decreased precipitation, and increased droughts, which have adversely affected its natural resources and agricultural productivity. Monitoring temperature variations is crucial for understanding and mitigating these issues. Land Surface Temperature (LST) is a key parameter in environmental and climate studies, offering insights into global earth system changes. This study examines the spatiotemporal variations of LST in Morocco. LST data were obtained from the thermal infrared satellite sensor MODIS (Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer), providing monthly composites of day and night values at a 1 km resolution from 2018 to 2023.
