Modelling of Oil Palm Plantation Land in Pandeglang Regency, Banten Province

Abstract
Land use change to oil palm plantations has become a topic of interest to researchers, practitioners, and policy makers around the world. Pandeglang Regency has experienced significant land use change in recent decades. This phenomenon needs to be modeled based on spatial, social, economic and environmental perspectives. This study aims to build a model of Land Cover Change to Oil Palm Land in Pandeglang Regency as a basis for analyzing and evaluating local government policies. The results show that in 2026, it is estimated that there will be a spike in conversion to oil palm land of 941,25 ha and in 2028 it will be 1,807.42 ha. This spike occurs because the Stock of Potential Oil Palm Land Area has run out while the Need for Oil Palm continues to increase along with the increasing population. The Pandeglang Regency Government is recommended to be able to prepare for all the worst possibilities in 2026 and 2028 including in terms of economy, social community, Environmental Sustainability.
