This paper explores the spatial activation of traditional rural ancestral halls. By applying the theory of spatial production, it analyzes the dilemmas faced by the activation of ancestral hall spaces from three dimensions: material space, social space, and spiritual space. These dilemmas include the weakening of functions, lack of vitality in activities, low participation willingness of villagers, single form of ancestor worship, and difficulties in online operation. In response to these issues, this paper proposes corresponding practical paths, including functional innovation and reuse, multiple sources of funding for heritage protection, diversified activities to enhance vitality, incentive mechanisms to improve enthusiasm, innovative forms of ancestor worship, and online and offline co-heritage. Through multi-dimensional analysis and exploration of practical paths, this paper aims to provide theoretical guidance and practical references for the activation and inheritance of traditional rural ancestral hall spaces.
