The study is devoted to the analysis of the contact shape in a symmetrical roll module for the case when changes in the thickness of the material and the roller coating at each point of the contact zone occur in the vertical direction of the strip of material. A mathematical model of the shape of contact between a deformable material and elastic rollers is developed. Particular types of mathematical models of the contact shape are obtained in cases where the material being processed is absolutely elastic, elasticviscous, and plastic. It was revealed that the shape of the contact depends primarily on the geometric and deformation properties of the strip of material being processed and the roller coating, and the deformation rate.
